तसं म्हंटल तर माझा आणि दुधाचा ३६चा आकडा. लहानपणापासून मला कधी दूध आवडलेच नाही. कदाचित ह्याच कारणास्तव मी चहाकडे खूपच लवकर वळले. लहानपणी एकत्रित कुटुंबात आम्ही सर्व भावंड एकत्र बसून चहा नाश्ता करायचो. रामायण, महाभारत, श्रीकृष्णा, रंगोली असे विविध कार्यक्रमांसोबत आणि भावंडांसोबत चहाची लज्जत काही औरच होती.
मला आठवतंय, मी कॉलेजात असताना आमच्या सोसायटीत खारी-टोस्ट-नानकटाई विकायला एक विक्रेता यायचा. त्याला एका डोळ्याने थोडं कमी दिसायचे. त्याला त्यामुळे काही मदत म्हणून सुरुवातीला आम्ही त्याच्याकडून खारी टोस्ट विकत घ्यायचो. पण, चहासोबत इतके भारी लागायचे ते खारी आणि टोस्ट कि पुढची अनेक वर्षे त्या माणसाकडून आम्ही खारी टोस्ट विकत घ्यायचो. चहा खारी सोबतच पुढे काय शिकायचं याची चर्चा भावांसोबत होत असे. पुढील चहाचा प्रसंग मी कधीच विसरू शकत नाही. कॉलेजच्या शेवटच्या वर्षात असताना मला लग्नासाठी बघायला एक मुलगा आला होता. माझा हा पहिलाच अनुभव असल्याने मी फार घाबरलेली होती. माझे खरंच आता लग्न झालं तर, मला पुढे शिकायला नाही मिळालं तर, मला खूप दूर जायला लागलं तर! अशा एक ना अनेक शंकांनी माझे हातपाय थरथरत होते..त्या भेदरलेल्या अवस्थेत मी त्या मुलासमोर गेले आणि चहा देतांना माझ्याकडून त्याच्या पायावर गरम चहाचा कप सांडला.. मी अजूनच घाबरले.. पण भाऊ आणि वडिलांनी प्रसंग निभावून नेला..असो..
पुढे ऑफीसला जायला लागले, पण तिथल्या मशीनचा चहा मला कधीच आवडायचा नाही. उलट कँटीनमध्ये मिळणारा वाफाळलेला रजवाडी चहा आणि जोडीला मैत्रिणींच्या गप्पा, आज मी फार मिस करते. पण हि कमी आता माझा नवरा भरून काढतो..फक्त फरक एवढा आहे कि ते एक कप दुधाचा पितात आणि मी एक कप चहाचा!
