चहा वेडी तर मी आहेच पण चहाच वेड जास्त माझ्या पप्पांना होत. माझी कहाणी खुप पुर्वीची आहे, साधारण १९९० ची असेल. मी बालपणापासून मुंबईतच राहते पण हिवाळी सुट्टीत हमखास गावी म्हणजे बुलढाण्याला जायचो. असच एका हिवाळीच्या सुट्टीत माझ कुटुंब ट्रेनने निघालो गावी जायला, थंडीचे दिवस होते. मुंबईहून ‘ हाऊडा एक्स्प्रेस’ मधे बसलो, अंगात स्वेटर, शाल घालून आम्ही सगळे पॅक. ट्रेन बरोबर पहाटे ५:३० ला मलकापूर स्टेशनला थांबली, पटापट बॅग घेऊन आम्ही उतरलो. मम्मी,पप्पा,मी आणि माझा मोठा भाऊ,आम्ही स्टेशन बाहेर पोहोचलो. पुढचा प्रवास घरापर्यंत बसचा. थंडी खूप भरली, एवढ्यात पप्पांची नजर एका चहाच्या टपरीवर गेली. “कडक मिठा चहा दे रे, आणि जरा गरमागरम कांद्याचे भजी तळ पटकन” पप्पांनी हुकुम सोडला, लगेच गरमागरम ४ चहाचे पेले समोर हजर. त्या कडाक्याच्या थंडीत त्या आल्याच्या, असल दुधाच्या चहाचे दोन घोट पोटात काय गेले, तरतरी आली आम्हाला. आता भूक तर होतीच, वेटरने लगेच दोन प्लेट गरमागरम कांदा भजीचे समोर ठेवले आणि जशे चहाचे दोन घोट गायब झाले तशे ते दोन प्लेट सुद्धा फस्त झाले.
पप्पा वारून अनेक वर्ष झाले, तेव्हा मी १०-१२ वर्षांची असेल. त्यानंतर अनेकदा गावी जाण झाल, त्याच ट्रेनची सवारी आणि तीच चहाची टपरी आणि तोच कडक मिठा चहा आणि सोबतीला गरम कांदा भजी. टपरीच रूपांतर मोठ्या हॉटेलात झाल आहे, पण चहा तोच जसा पप्पांना आवडायचा.
