I have given birth to an overly sensitive boy; he is 5 years old now and we named him Arjun. My husband and me are sensitive and emotional too, but we can still influence our feelings because we are adults. My son can’t handle things, he cries when he can’t express himself with words and after a lot of persuasions he opens up.
A few days back he had a rebuttal with his cousin, and he lost his temper. He came running home flustered and was raged. He went straightaway in his room and sat quietly, I understood that something was wrong. I asked him what the matter was, he busted into tears, and while he was crying, he was talking to me explaining to me what had happened. After consoling him for some time, he had calmed down and was watching his favourite cartoon on TV, when his grandmother started talking to him, “Why did you cry? Are you a girl to cry? Boys do not cry, boys have to be brave.
Hearing this, I started thinking, why have we grown up in such a societal thought where only girls can cry, why cannot men cry freely in public. Yes, I absolutely agree that in general women are more sensitive than men but why is it a bad thing if men cry. Crying does not make anyone weak; crying does not snatch away anyone’s masculinity; in fact, it helps in calming ourselves.
A few years ago, I went to a funeral of an old man, while every woman related to the old man was crying, the dead man’s son wept for some time and gained his cool back. Crying is just a way of expression and according to me, it is completely fine for men to get emotional and cry just like women do. I do not want Arjun to be a cry baby but I am definitely going to support him if he feels like crying sometimes. Next time you see a man crying, don’t judge him, just comfort him and listen to him.
I totally agree this. But some people from last generation doesn’t accept this. For example my mother in law tell my daughter boys don’t wash vessels only girls do that… But as a mother I told my child… If girl can go out and do job like boys then boys also can watch vessels.helping muma, helping sister, helping friends is good habbit.

When anyone cry in front of you so it’s a girl or boy or woman or a men it not mean he or she is weak……I think girls or woman’s are stronger then men’s and when a men cry he became more stronger from inside like a woman
True. Thank you
