Nothing fits…but SHOES!!

I love to window shop online. I spend hours window shopping because, the clothes that are in trend, are all for skinny and tall people. I prefer wearing minimal prints and dark colors. Something that will cover all the fat areas but will still look chic. Something that should be breathable for my skin. Something that will keep a balance between sanskari & modern. Since adolescence, I have always struggled between ‘log kya sochenge’ & ‘bhaad mein jaye log’.
So, I end up buying clothes that are loose, that covers up my assets and still make me look good. But then comes one more problem, I can’t keep using the same clothes again & again. No, not because I don’t repeat them but, because I am moody. There are months when I don’t give a damn about what I am eating and months when I count every bite I take. So, I shrink like a prawn & swell like a buffalo in the same year; there has never been an in-between. I was L size when I got married, then all eating around the world and sitting on the couch made me XL size. I got promoted to XXL size in my pregnancy & post-pregnancy. After a lot of hard work, I now keep shuffling between L & M size.
In this journey there has always been one thing that has stuck by me; my shoes. They have fit me whether fat or fit. A few days back, I was attending a cousin’s wedding and we were talking about the days we both were unmarried. Our talks hovered over many areas and then she looked at my sandals and gasped! “Hey! are these the same that we bought in 2012 from that shop next to your college?”, she asked. “Yes, they fit me the same and they still look fabulous.” This gives me contentment. You can wear any shoe anytime & it will still fit; obviously not your childhood ones. Shoes are my favourite accessories and there is always an extra room for them in my closet. I can wear any shoes; sold on a roadside or the ones sitting on the leather & velvet counters in an air-conditioned store.

If you love some shoe very much but it does not fit you, it will keep biting you and hurt you. Relationships are just like shoes, if someone is meant for you, they will fit you perfect & they will stay with you unchanged forever. Some shoes we wear daily, some on special occasions. Sometimes we match them to our outfit and sometime we match them to our mood. So, find the perfect shoes for yourself and rock the world.
